Corian Countertop Cutting. Corian is a fairly new countertop material that stands up well against damage. Create inspired Corian® kitchen countertops that flow smoothly into Corian® sinks and backsplashes to bring imagination and practicality to your design.
You make fairly good cuts in Corian and other solid-surface materials, using common power tools you probably already own. To keep Corian in top shape, do not chop or cut directly on the countertop surface. Corian and other solid-surface counters vary slightly in proprietary manufacturing recipes, but most consist of plasticised resins, crushed minerals and chemical binding agents.
It's recommended that you use a reciprocating saw when cutting Corian to reduce dust.
How to Maintain a Corian Countertop.
Corian countertops are impact resistant and are even repairable, giving you peace of mind. Corian countertops are made by pouring this heated mix of materials into molds, creating solid sheets when it cools. With solid surface counters you do get exactly what you pay.
