Faux Granite Paint Technique For Laminate Countertops. I am tired of the tile countertop and would love to change them into granite ones, but after That's too pricey. Painting laminate to look like granite can hide imperfections in the surface of the countertop.

Back in January I was contacted by Giani asking if I'd like to try out their granite countertop paint. The first thing I had to do was remove any silicone caulk, because it's not paintable. Although it requires several coats of paint (and can therefore take awhile), creating a faux granite finish is actually a simple technique.

If using a paint kit that emulates stone or granite, follow the directions for blending the paints and apply, allowing adequate drying time between layers.
